Talks & Walks

The Festival has a wealth of illustrated talks and guided walks on offer, from Ingleton Past and Present, bats, ecology and moths to the Three Counties Cave System breakthrough. You could even come along to Natural England's Cattle & Coffee morning or enjoy an artist’s perspective on the Shanty Towns of Ribblehead Viaduct.

Have A Go

We have caving and climbing taster sessions available for adults and children (8+ years) and new this year will be a 4-7 year olds accompanied cave taster trip. All kit and equipment is provided along with qualified guides and instructors. If that’s not enough, how about hiring a bike to join cycle orienteering, roll down the hill inside a zorb or try your hand at archery and mini quad biking.

Family Activities

Overground Underground offers a range of activities that the whole family can enjoy together. Come along and watch, or even take part in, SARDA England's rescue dog demonstration. Have a go at a range of sports including an outdoor climbing wall, quad biking, and more. There will be family craft activities, a fake cave and Ingleborough tent at Mealbank Hall, and your family will be made welcome by the many independent local businesses supporting the festival.

On Show

The local Cave Rescue Organisation will be giving a river rescue demonstration and Ingleton's very own Hoffmann Kiln will be available to tour. We are hosting a speleological art exhibition and the areas’ churches will be bursting with activity.

Overground Underground 2011 was inspirational. I have discovered so much about this amazing landscape that I didn’t know existed… and even had a go zorbing (never again!!). Thanks to the community of Ingleton for sharing its’ expertise and knowledge in such a fun and engaging way.
