A visit to Dry Rigg Quarry in upper Ribblesdale. The quarry will be working on the day of the visits and offers a unique opportunity to experience at first hand the day to day workings of one the area’s oldest established industries. The visits will also be of value to anyone interested in Geology and Ecology, as the quarry offers views of ancient rock structures uncovered by the workings as well as a diverse range of flora and fauna which find the quarrying habitat attractive.
