Ten traditional field barns were fully restored and eleven were dated by tree-ring methodology, all within the Ingleborough area, as part of two Stories in Stone projects. This event will visit four such barns on a circular walk from Horton in Ribblesdale parish church. We will look at each of the barns, explore why each was included in the project, what dates were obtained from one of the barns, and how field barns fitted into upland farming practices up to the 1960s.
